My theory for screen protectors on the iPad hasn’t changed.  Just as on the iPhone, they are a necessity if you want to protect your screen from scratches. NewerTech has just introduced two screen protectors for the iPad, the NuVue Screen Protector, and the NuVue Privacy Film.

Let's start off with the NewerTech NuVue Screen Protector.  The most difficult part in using this screen protector is applying it.  The iPad's screen is so big compared to the iPhone's, which makes it extremely hard to stick the protector on on the first attempt.  If you miss the first time, the screen will pick up dust particles, which accumulate with each subsequent attempt and eventually ruin the screen protector.  Since the plastic is very thin, when you put it on, bubbles will appear. The best way to get rid of these is to take a credit card and carefully drag it across the screen to push the bubble toward the edge. If you apply the protector correctly, it works perfectly.

Many screen protectors feel different from your iPhone or iPad glass. The NuVue Screen Protector by NewerTech feels almost the same iPhone glass, which is very nice because it has the same smooth feeling the iPhone or iPad glass has.  This product will last about two months before it will need to be replaced, but this is the expected lifespan of a screen protector.

The NewerTech NuVue Privacy Protector is a screen protector for your iPad that makes it virtually impossible for people to see what is displayed on your iPad from the side. However, when you are looking at it straight on, you can see the screen perfectly well, without any distortion. Here at Different District we have never seen anything like the NuVue Privacy Protector before. Instead of a thin plastic film to cover your iPad, it’s a thick plastic shield that can be taken off and reapplied multiple times.  This makes the NuVue Privacy Protector a very durable and worthwhile product.

Overall, if you're going to buy a screen protector you should splurge and buy the NuVue Privacy protector, which we give 5 out of 5 stars.  As for the NuVue Screen Protector, it’s a lower cost, but it won’t last as long and is not as good quality.  Out of 5 stars the NuVue Screen protector scored a 3.
