ForceShield for the iPod Nano 5G by Agent18

4.5 Stars

Company: Agent18

Price: $19.95

Pros: Cheep. Feels very nice. Protection for scratches. Fits well.

Cons: Places where dust can get in. Hold button is hard to use with case on.

The ForceShield for the iPod Nano 5G by Agent18 is great case. I received the case and immediately put it onto my iPod to test it out.

The first thing I noticed was the pattern of the case. It was similar to that of carbon fiber products with a lattice type design weaving across it. The pattern formed a good grip that does not let the iPod slip around in your hand or fall out of the case. The iPod also seemed fairly snug in the case which was great. However, the case did seem loose enough for dust to get inside of it and perhaps damage the iPod. This was a minor flaw and there was no noticeable amount of dust collection in the case while I used it.

One of the bigger problems with the case is the accessibility to the hold button. It is already hard to slide over the hold button on the new iPod Nano without a case. The way this is made the hole for the button is a bit too small and the thick rubber does not help the problem. Compared to the rest of the case this is a fairly small detail.

I did like the case very much due to the protection it provided for the iPod. The thick rubber has great shock absorbing qualities and I reckon if you drop your iPod it will protect it quite well. The case fits very well and it did not interfere with the screen or click wheel at all. It also left plenty of room to access the headphone jack and the charging plug in. The only problem with the fit was the opening with the hold button and the slight looseness that I previously talked about.

Overall, I would give this case a 4.5 out of 5 because I felt the hold button could be better and perhaps a tiny bit tighter so no dust could get inside it, but I did feel that it provided great protection for the iPod and had a great design.
